Acupuncture has been around for over two thousand years, and has been studied and proven to be effective for numerous health conditions.
Acupuncture is the use of very thin needles inserted into specific points along the Chinese meridian system of the body, with the goal of normalizing physiological function and balancing the mental and emotional aspects of a person. My approach to acupuncture is rooted in Chinese medicine and philosophy, and incorporates a Western medical approach as needed.

Electro-acupuncture, in which a mild electric current is passed between needles, is often used in treating pain. It’s a comfortable and relaxing experience that helps to stop pain by interrupting the pain signal transmitted to the brain from the affected body region, enhancing the release of endorphins or natural opioids for immediate pain relief, and releasing trigger points or knots in muscles. The combined outcome relaxes muscles, resets the nervous system and retrains the brain to unlearn pain.
